Preparing tax forms

Intuit Online Payroll automatically shows you which tax forms are due in the Tax Forms Center (open the Employees menu and choose Payroll Tax Forms Centerclick the Tax Forms tab). A form appears in the Forms Due Soon table if it is within 31 days of its due date.

For example, if you have a tax form for the period ending June 30:

How do I prepare a form?

  1. From the Employees menu, choose Payroll Tax Forms Center. Click the Tax Forms tab.
  2. In the Forms Due Soon table, choose the form.
  3. Click Prepare, and follow the onscreen instructions.

If you click Finished, the Payroll Forms Summary screen opens. From there, you can revise, reprint, or prepare forms.

How do I change amounts on a form?

You can't edit the form directly. If you think any information is incorrect, review the answers you gave on the Prepare Payroll Forms screen.

Also, if necessary, you can make changes to employee year-to-date information, prior liability payments, historical paychecks or payroll settings and prepare the form again.

What do I need to print Forms W-2/W-3?

The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires that you print the employee copies of Forms W-2 on blank, perforated paper. Learn more.
